Biography

Olexander Sadovsky was born on February 17 1951 in the village of Myronivka in the south of Vinnytsia region.
The true passion for arts came to him not very soon, but once, and for all.
In 1974 he enters the Odessa state art school named after V. Hrecov, where he successfully graduated 1978 from, 1984 Sadovsky graduated from the Kharkiv art industry higher school. The young artist had in Kharkiv the excellent professors of monumental decorative arts as Yevhen Bykov, Olexander Khmelnytsky, Leonid Chernov.
Since 1984 till 1993 O. Sadovsky worked as an artist in the Sumy arts production enterprises. Since 1993 he began his pedagogical activities. Formerly at the Sumy higher school of arts and culture, then since 2002 in the Sumy state pedagogical university, where he teaches composition, drawing, painting.
He is awarded the title Merited Artist of Ukraine in 2001.
The artist Olexander Sadovsky belongs to the creative generation, which commenced its activities in the years of the reconstruction of this country and of the powerful renaissance of Ukrainian national arts. At first he devotedly creates the monumental works. These works are the pride of Sumy at present- great or small by size, they always are marked by his energy and inspiration, of his daring thought, original solution, feeling of refined tastes, his impeccable artistry. One by one appeared his works of easel painting at the time.
The range of artist's interests is tremendously wide - from history to private life and rather often to mysticism and rich fantasy. The embracing manner of artist's handwriting, laminate layers of his colors, energetic strokes of his paint brush, huge sizes of canvasses, allegory and mythology - all this is not an exhausted characteristics of the creative manner of Olexander Sadovsky.
The very prolific period of Sadovsky's activities is his abstractionist's creativity there he expresses especially distinctly his ability to feel the subtle colors and the compositional harmony of the work. Though this period continued only some years, the artist has acquired the excellent practice of painting, and when, it seemed to him, he had exhausted his abstract themes, he felt again his constant search, he has returned to creation of genre composition. The latter works of him enriched by all the previous experience of the master became more picturesque, the manner of the artist distinctly shaped itself, his world-outlook has widened profoundly.
The tireless inventor, fanatically devoted to his favorite art, O. Sadovsky is constantly in the state of search of the new forms, plots, manner. The artist always longs for meeting this miracle, which is called Creation.
